This is why we do not have a good picture of all seven of us up on the sidebar. We can't get one. Granted we have only tried once or twice, but really it seems impossible.
The one above has: a weird Ethan face, something going on funky with Luke's tuck-in job and zipper situation, and Ava, Aidan and Justus not really looking at the camera.
This attempts to crop out Luke's shorts but E-bo is still a goofball and Aidan and Ava are still looking elsewhere.
This one? Same issues really. I am not even taking into account the several others which were also not good or the fact that we are all standing very far apart. Oh and I am not even trying to pretend that I can get it together enough to have matching, coordinating or complimenting outfits!
Those are all the negatives or as I like to call them, the realities of the situation. The positive --and it is a big one is that these six people are my most favorite in the whole wide world. And no matter how crazy the pictures end up I will never tire of their faces!

Hilarious! We have the same problem w/our 5 non-posers. This post made me chuckle!! :)
Ebo rawks! We had a blast looking at those pics. Calvin usually turns into a retard when someone pulls out a camera. It's annoying at the time, but usually highly amusing when looking at the pics later.
All our family pictures a certain boy looks like he really needs to use the restroom. The best ones we have are usually when we are not trying like at scouts or something but I can always find something wrong with how I look. Good luck and it is a beautiful family even if you can't prove it all together!
it's the pictures like this that the kids will love to look at when they're older!

I loved this post. Because I loved looking at everyone's expressions in each picture-- they're so unique to their individual personalities, and MUCH MORE fun to look at than if they were all being just perfectly smiley.
Cute family, you are!
Taking family pictures is the one area where I think bribing might just be the answer. As in "If you smile and look appropriate you will receive ______ instantly after this picture is taken".
I haven't yet figured out how to make this work for all five of our kids at the same time...
And really, sometimes what I like best when I'm looking at a picture of us later are the things in the background I wasn't intending to capture, like the lego creation on the counter behind us or the record of how small the plants in our garden looked then compared with how big they are now.
We love you guys! It's so fun to "catch up" with these posts. Can't wait to catch up in real life!
Thanks guys! Glad to know we are not the only ones! And you all have a great perspective on enjoying the varied poses.
